Extensive crescent formation in idiopathic membranous glomerulonephritis. A case report.

چکیده
Idiopathic membranous glomerulonephropathy is a well defined clinical and pathological entity (Cluck et al, 1973). It is postulated to be an immune-complex disease. There seems to be some variation in the life expectancy in this group of patients, nonetheless most agree that slow progression to renal failure is usual. Evolution of membranous nephropathy to a rapidly progressive crescentic glomerulonephritis is extremely rare. Isolated cases have been documented by Klassen et al, (1974), Nicholson et al (1975) and Moorthy et al (1976).

Bucillamine-Induced Membranous Nephropathy with Crescent Formation in a Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis: Case Report and Literature Review
Bucillamine is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug that is structurally similar to D-penicillamine. The major renal side effect of bucillamine and D-penicillamine is proteinuria caused by membranous nephropathy (MN). In addition to MN, combined crescent formation has been occasionally reported in D-penicillamine-induced MN, while crescent formation has been rarely reported in bucillamine-tre...
متن کاملCo-existence of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and Nephrotic Syndrome with Membranous Glomerulonephritis in a 6 Year Old Boy: Report of a Case
Background: Nephrotic syndrome and type 1 diabetes mellitus are two common chronic conditions in children. Co-existence of these conditions is an extremely rare finding. Case presentation: This report presents a 6-year-old boy who was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome five years ago and type 1 diabetes mellitus in infancy. Renal biopsy showed membranous glomerulonephritis, which is a rare h...
متن کاملDevelopment of IgG4-related disease in a patient diagnosed with idiopathic membranous nephropathy
We report a case of IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) diagnosed after 3 years of follow-up for idiopathic membranous nephropathy (MN). MN has been considered as glomerular lesion of IgG4-related kidney diseases in recent years and was diagnosed simultaneously with or after a diagnosis of IgG4-RD in previously reported cases. In the present case, IgG4-RD developed 3 years after the diagnosis of idi...
متن کاملPhospholipase A2 Receptor-Positive Idiopathic Membranous Glomerulonephritis with Onset at 95 Years: Case Report
A 95-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for evaluation of bilateral lower-limb edema persisting for 3 months. Serum creatinine was 1.55 mg/dl, and urinary protein excretion was 9.1 g/day. Renal biopsy revealed stage 1 membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) with immunoglobulin G4-dominant staining. This patient did not have any underlying disease such as infection with hepatitis B or C vir...
متن کاملClinical Features and Outcomes in Patients With Membranous Nephropathy and Crescent Formation
Cases of membranous nephropathy (MN) with crescent formation, in the absence of lupus, hepatitis B virus infection, anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) nephritis, or antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA), are on record. Clinical presentation and treatment outcomes in these patients are unclear. All patients with biopsy-proven MN diagnosed between years 2008 and 2014 and followed up wer...
